Srinagar, Sep 01 (KB): In a heartbreaking incident, a 10-year-old drowned in Nallah Firozpora at Haritara in north Kashmir’s Sopore on Sunday morning.

The boy had ventured near the stream, where he tragically slipped into the water and was swept away by the strong current.

An official told news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), that the boy has been identified as Sahil Rasheed, son of Abdul Rasheed Lone from Gund Jahangir Hajin in Bandipora district.

Upon hearing the news, local residents and police immediately launched a rescue operation to retrieve Sahil’s body.

Despite their relentless efforts, the search is still ongoing. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and are conducting further investigations.— (KB)
