20 Days After Acid Attack, Police Files 1000 page Charge Sheet Against The Accused Trio before CJM court, JJB
Third accused being a minor to be tried before JJB as per JJ act
SRINAGAR: Police have filed the charge sheet in the Hawal acid attack case against three accused, one of whom is a juvenile, official sources said. The charge sheet was submitted to the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar.
Reports said the case has been committed to the Principal Sessions Judge, Srinagar where the trial will take place. The next date of hearing is March 8.
The charge sheet was filed against three accused, two of them adults. In the case of the minor, a case was submitted before the juvenile justice board.
The investigation in the case was carried out by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by SP North Raja Zuhaib. The charge sheet is said to be a foolproof case. This is perhaps one of the fastest investigations of a crime in recent days. The crime took place on February 1, and the charge sheet was filed twenty days later. Police had arrested the accused within 24 hours.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment in a Chennai hospital.
