“Powerman of Kashmir” | Ubayd Hafiz Hailing from Dalgate Srinagar Kashmir.
Umer Latief
Ubayd Hafiz Hailing From Dalgate Srinagar Kashmir. A Professional Fitness Trainer, Competitive Powerlifter & Bodybuilder. Current Powerman Of Kashmir(Powerlifting India).

I started doing weight training seriously from the year 2005. Riyaz Ahmad Owner Of Iron Fever gym was my trainer. In less than 2 years I developed a good strength. I used to do 200kg deadlift without using the lifting belt. At that time there was no help from any association that could guide me for competitions. In year 2009 my mentor Ishtiyaq Khan Owner of Power House Supplement store saw me first time & suggested me to go for deadlift competition in nationals and guided me. I Won Silver in that competition which took place in Jammu at that time. I participated in several competitions after that but there was no recognisation or help from the government or anyone.  As I was in college I didn’t got much time to focus on powerlifting. After College because of my well built physique,I was offered to work in TV serials and movies. I did short roles in few serials and movies as well. In 2014, I accidently dislocated both of my shoulders & I was bedridden for 3 months. Doctors suggested me not to go to gym and I will not be able to lift heavy weights for next coming 4-5 years. During my treatment I studied about injuries and did a course in physio exercises. I implemented the studies on myself first and my joint mobility and strength was coming back. In 2016 I switched to bodybuilding & I participated in a bodybuilding competition where I lacked a lot of stuff.

I went to mumbai for training and met Ifbb pro Junaid Kaliwala and Ifbb pro Manoj Patil, they guided me for contest prep and after few months I was a trainer myself in one of the best gyms in mumbai city. When I came back I started my contest prep for Mr. Kashmir 2017 & bagged 2nd place in my category.. In 2018, I participated in a powerlifting competition & won Gold. In same year I participated in a Mr. Kashmir competition and took 3rd place. I had only a month for preparation as I was getting married that year. After my Marriage I participated in another Powerlifting Competition where I got Gold. After few months I was offered a job as a Head trainer in a fitness centre in Srinagar. I served there for 1 year and 6 months.

I participated in another Powerlifting Competition in year 2019 where I again got Gold in my category. In 2020 I got an offer to be a member in a powerlifting association and I was judging a Bench Press competition.  In the month of December last year. I participated in another Powerlifting competition and again won Gold in my category. In the same month I again participated in another Competition which was organized by Kashmir Powerlifting Association Which Is Affliated to Powerlifting India(The only registered national association of the country). I Won Powerman Of The Year 2020 Overall Title. Apart From Both Powerlifting And Bodybuilding. I Train people for weight loss, muscle building, Sports injuries, Contest Prep for both Bodybuilding and Powerlifting. I train other trainers from various fitness centres, footballers, cricketers, MMA fighters. I Trained My wife  who won Gold medals In 1st Women powerlifting competition & she became first Married Powerlifter woman of Kashmir. She is also a trainer now. Currently Working as a Head Trainer In Muscle Mania Gym Mehjoor Nagar & as a freelancer both online and personal trainer as well, I am also a member & official judge of World Raw Powerlifting Federation. My parents, brother & my wife always supported me in this field. I have love for this sport, I want to help people who have lost hope in getting towards their fitness goals. I appeal youth of Kashmir & specially their parents to encourage them in getting more into sports and stay away from drug abuse & other unsocial activities.
