In Pre Teen, sub-Junior, and Junior National Pencak Silat Championship JK wins overall champion while as Madhya Pradesh runners up and Maharashtra stood on 3rd
Srinagar, March 31: The 9th National Pencak Silat Championship-2020-21 which was inaugurated on 24th March 2021 concluded at Indoor Sports complex polo ground Srinagar, here.
The championship was organized by the Indian Pencak Silat Federation in collaboration with the Pencak Silat Association of J&K and J&K State Sports Council.
Around 2100 players and officials from 30 plus states and UTs participated in this 8-Day event. In this event, few paramilitary forces and JK police teams participated in the senior category.
President International Pencak Silat Federation, Kishor Prakash Yewale said we were expecting more students in this event but due to pandemic, some players couldn’t participate in this event.
Sonia from Punjab said that before the start of national championship two days refresher coach courses were conducted at indoor sports complex in which Malaysian and other senior masters taught us via webinar new rules and regulations of the game. We are very thankful to CEO Mr. Mohammad Iqbal that he also provided us with a hardcopy of the new rule books so that the coaches in the future will not face any issues at international championships.
Aqsa a participant from Srinagar said ”it was a good opportunity for all of us that this mega event was held in Kashmir in which various players from our valley participated in this event and won laurels for JK.
