Principal Secretary to Hon’ble LG visits Pahalgam, takes stock of Amarnath Ji Yatra Preparations

Directs officers to ensure smooth and hassle free Yatra

Anantnag, 02 April (KB): Principal Secretary to Hon’ble LG, Nitishwar Kumar visited Pahalgam today and took stock of the preparations being put in place for smooth conduct of Sh Amarnath Ji Yatra 2021 in a meeting with the concerned officers here.
He was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P. K. Pole. 
According to a statement issued to the Kashmir Bulletin (KB), said that at the outset, the Yatra Officer, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla briefed the principal Secretary about the Yatra Plan vis a vis security, accomodation, healthcare, food, drinking water and other facilities to be made available to the pilgrims. 
He also briefed him about the steps being taken to execute the plan smoothly for successful pilgrimage to the Holy Cave. 
Assistant Yatra Officer, CEO PDA, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani apprised the meeting about the facilities available on Pahalgam axis besides the augmentation being made in wake of anticipated increase in number of pilgrims. 
The Principal Secretary impressed upon the officers to ensure proper arrangements are made at all transit & base camps, halting stations and along the routes for a smooth and successful Yatra.
The officers of Police and Paramilitary Forces, Health, R&B, Fire & Emergency, Jalshakti, Transport,Revenue, RDD, PDD,MCs,PDA,Forest, Food,Labour,Animal Husbandry and other departments were directed to keep requisite facilities available for pilgrims at all locations.
Mr Kumar called for proper dress code of civil defence volunteers deputed for assistance of  Yatries so they are easily identifiable besides setting up of special kiosks where Sim cards are made available.
To ensure proper healthcare for the pilgrims, he asked the concerned officers to establish quarantine and isolation centres besides augmenting the ventilator facilities at critical locations. 
Besides, the meeting was attended by SSP Anantnag, Additional ADC (S), Add CEO, Shrine Board, SEs Jal Shakti, PDD, SDM Pahalgam, and other concerned officers of Civil, Security and engineering departments.
Later, Mr. Kumar made an on spot inspection of Nunwan Base Camp where Additional CEO, Shrine Board apprised him about the functioning of the camp—(Kashmir Bulletin)
