Aab E Rawan In Collaboration With Markaz-I-Noor, Centre For Shaikh-Ul Aalam Studies, University Of Kashmir, Srinagar Organised An Event: “Mehboob-Ul Aalam Awards On 18 October, 2021

The event was presided over by Professor Farooq Ahmad Masoodi, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir. Other dignitaries including Mufli Nasir ul Islam (Grand Mufti, J&K), Dr. Nisar Hussain Mubarki, Maulana Showkat Hussain Keng besides noted poet and writer, Zareef A. Zareef were also present on the occasion.

Professor G. N. Khaki, Chairman CSAS welcomed the dignitaries and other participants. In his welcome address. Professor Khaki emphasized the significance of Sufis and awliya of Kashmir, particularly Mehboob-ul Aalam (RA) and his immense contribution in shaping the spiritual ethos of the Valley.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Farooq Masoodi underlined the role of personalities like Mehboob ul Alam. Shaikh ul Alam and others in promoting values of brotherhood, empathy and harmony within the Kashmiri society and even beyond.

 

 

The function formally commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Following this, a number of students affiliated with various schools and other institutions of the Valley made short presentations throwing light on the exalted personality of Mehboob ul Alam Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom (RA).

While commenting on various social evils that have engulfed Kashmir in recent times Mufti Nasir ul Islam, the Guest of Honour in his thought provoking speech called upon the youth to come forward and counter these vices and guide the community out of this menace. Mufti sahib spoke of Islam as a religion of peace that does not allow any innocent killings.

 

 

He also gifted rupees 10000 to the student participants asking the whole to hold an international conference on Sufism in the near future. Dr. Nisar Hussain Mubarki and Zareef Ahmad Zareef also spoke on this occasion reinforcing the values and ideals that Mehboob ul Alam stood stood for.

 

 

Towards the end, awards and certificates were distributed to various dignitaries and other participants. The participating schools were Kohsar Public High School Khag ,New Tiny Buds School Bemina ,New Career Convent School, Gulistan-I-Atfalschool ,Eve’s Garden Edu Ins. Bota Kadal Lal Bazar ,Banat Ins. Of Edu Gopalpora,Sultan-ul-Arifeen School, Minhaj-ul-Quran Srinagar.

The first position was bagged by Fiza yaseen from blue bells school. Aab E Rawan Team, Khalid Bukhari, Muneeb Masoodi, Benish, Junaid Baba, Shazia Zargar, Nyla Bilal, Rukaya Ramzan and Shaista worked tremendously in making the event a success. They further focus on doing more of such conferences in the future to engage more of youth in such activities.
