Ramban, Nov 28: At least four persons including three family members were killed in a road accident that took place near Chenani area of Udhampur district on Monday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a vehicle was on way from Gool Sangaldan towards Udhampur when it skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Prem Mandir in Chenani today morning.
He said after the accident a rescue operation was launched immediately, but two persons died on the spot while today succumbed on way to the hospital.
The deceased were identified as Mufti Jamal Din of Sangaldan, his wife Hajira Begum, their son Mufti Abdul Hamid, and Tadil Ahmad, son of Gulzar Malik, all residents of Sangaldan Ramban. “A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been started,” the Official added.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his grief over the incident and directed officials to provide necessary assistance to the affected family.
“Deeply anguished to learn about the loss of lives in a road accident in Udhampur. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. Directed district administration to provide all possible assistance,” the LG tweeted—(KNO)
