“You people stayed with me in snow, in extremely hot condition, but we reached here successfully,” Gandhi stated, emphasizing the resilience of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and the supporters of Bharat Jadoo Yatra who came along with him. He spoke of the hardships faced by many of the region’s inhabitants, including women who have been molested and children who have lost their loved ones to violence.”

Rahul Gandhi gave an example of a child and said, “A little girl met me and gave me a slip. The slip read, ‘I know your leg is hurting, but I want you to know that I am walking with you in your heart.’ Giving me hope and confidence, she told me that she can’t come to me with a cane, and the next time my pain suddenly disappeared.”

“Gandhi also spoke of the importance of understanding and embracing the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, drawing parallels with the philosophy of Gandhi Ji and the ideals of “Kahsmiriyat” and “FNAH.” He said that his aim in visiting the region was to promote peace and unity, and to help bring an end to the cycle of violence that has plagued the region for years.”

“Gandhi Ji talked about Vashnu Jantu, and here it’s called FANAHA OR KASHMIRIYAT. To unite people and bring everyone together, it is called Kashmiriyat. My family traveled from Kashmir to Allahabad. And when they went, they took an indology book there and laid it in the River Ganda, which is now these days called Ganga Jamuna culture.”

“When I was on my way here, my security informed me that I could walk all over India, including Jammu, but for the last four days in Kashmir, I should travel by car. Just a few days before, the administration had told me not to walk as I might be attacked,” Rahul Gandhi said.

“I decided to walk anyway, hoping to give peace a chance. As like Gandhi Ji once said, ‘If you want to live, live without fear.’ The people of Jammu and Kashmir welcomed me wholeheartedly and with open arms, showing me love,” he said.

“Gandhi also spoke of his personal experiences, including the loss of his grandmother and father to violence, and the impact that these events have had on his life. He said that his aim is to help bring an end to the violence and promote peace, love, and unity in India.”

“When I was 14 years old in my school, the teacher told me that I had been called by the principal. He told me it was a call from my home and that my grandmother had been shot. I was completely shaken and felt completely blank. At the next moment, I reached my home and saw the place where she had been shot. My family arrived, and my mother was shocked,” he said.

“Six or seven years later, I was in America. My phone rang again on May 21st, and the person on the other end told me that my father had passed away. I told him I already knew and hung up the phone. My aim is to end these phone calls,” said Rahul Gandhi.

“I didn’t start this journey for myself. I started it for all of India. We should all stand against those who are dividing us and speak with peace and love. India is a nation of love, and we should raise our voices and revive that love among us,” he said.

“I urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to work together to rebuild the region and to stand against those who are dividing the nation,” he said. He also emphasized the importance of love and unity in overcoming adversity and in creating a better future for all,” said Rahul Gandhi. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
