Srinagar, Sep 26 (KB): Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (PDD’s) Chief Engineer, Javid Yousuf on Monday, called the recently releases “Amnesty Scheme,” a very good opportunity for those consumers who have not paid their recent bill on can’t pay their bills on time.
Talking excluaively to Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), Chief Engineer PDD Javid Yousuf said that, under the Amnesty Scheme, those consumers who have not paid their electricity bills till 31 March, 2022 will have to pay the electricity fee in twelve installments without interest. Which means if the consumes principle ammount is 24 thousand without surcharge, he can easily pay the amount in 12 instalments, and the amount gets devided into two thousand.
“We have already started the process, and people from subdivision are coming forward, and in coming days, we will also organise a special camp for awareness of people. As you all are aware that every Thursday of weeks is celebrated as (Block Diwas), and on such day, consumers will be also briefed about the special scheme,” he said.
Moreover, “Fifty-five thousand, smart meters have been installed in Srinagar City till date, and under phase two 1.2 lack, more smart meters to come in City.”
“My request to the consumes is that, avoid crude heating elements like, boilers and use electricity as per alredy resisted agreement with the department,” he added. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
