Bandipora Doctors Successfully Perform Emergency Surgery on Pregnant Woman with Cardiac Issues

In a remarkable display of medical expertise and teamwork, doctors at District Hospital Bandipora successfully performed a high-risk emergency surgery on a pregnant woman with serious cardiac concerns, ensuring the safe delivery of her baby.

The patient, a high-risk primigravida, was admitted with anhydrous amnios and abnormal fetal Doppler (AFD). Her condition became even more critical when ECG changes—including T-wave inversion in chest leads and ST depression—suggested possible cardiac complications.

Given the complexity of the case, a team led by Dr. Sheikh Firdous (Gynecologist ) and Dr. Tariq Ahmad (Anesthetist), with support from Mr. Mahmood (OT Technician), Mr. Manzoor, and Mr. Tariq Beig, decided to proceed with the emergency surgery during the night. To ensure cardiac safety, they consulted Dr. Shahood Kakroo (Cardiologist), who provided telephonic guidance. Once a negative Trop-T test ruled out a major cardiac event, Dr. Kakroo advised that the surgery could proceed.

Despite the high risks involved, the team successfully conducted the operation, ensuring both mother and baby survived. Both are now in stable condition and recovering well under close medical supervision.
