Srinagar, Jan 29 (KB): The Bharat Jodo Yatra ended with Rahul Gandhi hoisting the national flag at historic Lal Chowk, Srinagar on Sunday.
The yatra resumed its journey from Pantha Chowk and made its way through the city, stopping at Sonwar Chowk before the final flag-hoisting ceremony at Lal Chowk, Srinagar.
Reports reaching the Kashmir Bulletin (KB), said the finale program was held at the Clock Tower Lal Chowk Srinagar, with tight security arrangements in place. The yatra was welcomed by a large crowd of supporters, including women raising slogans and holding banners at Sonwar Srinagar. Hoardings of the yatra were also displayed along the route.
Ex-President J&K Pradesh Congress committee, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, speaking to KB, said: “I am very happy that the rally, which started on 7th September from Kaniya Kumari, successfully reached Kashmir. The rally covered 14-15 states and reached Srinagar today, marking the last leg of the yatra. The main motive behind this yatra was encouraged successfully. In the Kashmir valley, we received love and blessings from all sectors of society. People showed much love to Rahul ji.”
“We are very happy and would like to congratulate the entire Kashmir valley. Tomorrow, we have the closing ceremony of our Bharat Jadoo Yatra at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Sonwar Srinagar, and we would like to invite everyone to come and participate,” Mir said. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
