Budgam Police conducts inspection of SIM Vendors across the district

Budgam 11 Feb: Budgam Police conducted a comprehensive inspection of SIM card vendors across the district to prevent SIM card misuse and enhance public safety. The initiative aimed to ensure strict compliance with guidelines for SIM card sales and activations besides, vendors were briefed to ensure their operations comply with all legal and regulatory requirements with focusing on verifying adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, proper documentation, and preventing unauthorized issuance of SIM cards.

Vendors were warned that any non-compliance would attract severe legal action U/S 316 BNS-2023 (Criminal Breach Of Trust), including penalties, cancellation of licenses and prosecution.

Budgam Police requests public to report any suspicious activities or irregularities concerning SIM card sales or usage. This collaborative effort aims to enhance the security and safety of the citizens.
