Daily wagers protest outside Chief Engineer’s office against delay in salaries

Srinagar, Sep 26: All Jammu and Kashmir Casual Daily Wagers Association staged a protest outside the Chief Engineer’s office in Rajbagh, Srinagar, on Tuesday, demanding the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led administration to release their pending salaries.

The protesters gathered outside the Chief Engineer’s office here in Rajbagh and raised slogans in favour of their demands.

While speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the daily wagers who gathered outside the Chief Engineer’s office earlier today said the protest has been organized today to demand the pending dues.

The protesters held placards and chanted slogans while demanding immediate action in this regard.

“The government stopped our salaries, and because of that, we were forced to take to the streets. We have no issues with the government, but we want our pending salaries, and the government should also fulfill our demands at earliest,” said Sajad Parry, President of the association.

“If a daily wager is working honestly for many years, they should receive their salary on time, but the government has also stopped the payment. The government should intervene in this matter and ensure that we receive our salaries on time,” added Wajahat, EJAC president—(KNO)
