Budgam, Aug 10 (KB): The much-anticipated children’s park in Beerwah, Budgam, which was constructed by the Municipal Committee between 2021 and 2023, has yet to be dedicated to the public, leaving local children and families frustrated.

The locals said that despite the completion of the park, it remains inaccessible to the community due to unresolved issues.

Speaking to the Kashmir Bulletin (KB), the locals said the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department, responsible for overseeing the project, has not yet handed over the park to the Municipal Committee, preventing the park from being opened for public use. “This delay has caused concern among us, residents who were looking forward to using the new facility,” said one of the locals.

When contacted, the Executive Engineer of Beerwah said the park would be handed over to the Municipal Committee within the next ten days. However, he did not provide specific reasons for the delay. —(KB)
