Srinagar, 20 Jan (KB):  20 year old Zarah Bhat, hailing from Downtown Srinagar. She has done her schooling from Casett School & is  perusing B.A from Amar singh college. She is a Karate player & ranked Black belt.
Talking to Kashmir Bulletin (KB), she said that “My journey started when I was 12 years old. Since from childhood I was interested in sports, and always wanted to showcase my talent to the world. When I was in 6th grade, my school started karate classes, I was happy as it was the first step towards my goal. Thus, began my journey of karate.
Afterjoining there were people who wanted to bring me down or discourage me, they brought religious and social aspects into discourse, but my parents, and  my family always encouraged me. They supported me and  uplifted  my morale. I have participated in many championships _ District level, State level,  National level & International level and Alhamdullilah have won many Gold medals, silver & bronze as well. I also passed my 10+2 with good grades. It was very tough time as I underwent some health issues, I feel like losing my dream, but I never gave up.
I believe in accepting defeat with a smiling face! Many a times I fail, but that failure makes me even more stronger, & more dedicated towards my goal. After working hard day & night, I got qualified for (63rd Yoga Games U19 DURG, Chattisgarh). I also played JUDO  in which I have represented Kashmir at  different levels .I am IST DAN Black belt  in karate. At District level I am a 5 time Madelist, at State level I am 5 time Madelist, and also i am a National sliver Madelist, and a KAI participant.
After that I got selected for certificate  course by Prime Minister Package in Health and Fitness Sports Authority of India (SNS), NIS Patiala (India). After completing the course our state sports council appointed me as a H & F coach in Khawaja Nakhsband Stadium in Radpora on contractual basis.
After this I played as an athlete in yoga 63rd national games in Chattisgarh. I played judo tournament as well. After that I played IST international Emartialart and Yoga Competition and I got  first rank in India, then our Shihan decided to make me a Senior Vice President in TKAJAK in District Srinagar.
During this spell we organized various functions in which Honorable Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh was the chief guest, along with the CM Miss Mehbooba Mufti  & Youth wing leader Mr Waheed ur Rehman parry. The function was a huge success.
As I belong to a middle class family, it was tough to stand on all the requirements but my Father managed everything,  we faced financial crises,  but with the support of my family I faced difficulties cheerfully.  I worked hard to achieve success.
I also played ist International E-Martial art competition, organized by Acdemy of Self defense & Martial Art Research of India & I bagged IST POSITION  in INDIA.After all this hardwork Shihan elected me as Sr. Vice president of Dst. Sgr of ( TAJA).
I believe man is the marker of his future. My aim is to serve my nation. There is still many more I want to do & In sha Allah I will. I wanted to set an example, and want to create a platform for those who are desirous, especially for the girls. I want them to be  independent. There are many things I’ve to learn, I got fascinated with the adventure activities. And my parents are my strength. They have always supported my dreams.
According to them, the only way to achieve all your goals is to work hard and never give up on them. They have never imposed themselves and demanded any of their children to  become what they want us. Instead they wanted us to choose career & a life that will give us joy and stability―(Kashmir Bulletin)
