Srinagar, Sep 17 (KB): Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was celebrated with great fervor throughout the Kashmir Valley to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The celebrations were characterized by prayers and processions. The largest turnout of devotees was at the Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar.

“Thousands of devotees gathered in front of the revered shrine to participate in special prayers and listen to sermons on religious matters,” an eyewitness told the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB).

He said the place buzzed with devotion as the congregation dedicated themselves to the recitation of the Quran and hymns praising the Prophet.

Local resident Tahoor Shah from Soura Srinagar said, “Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is a time to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and renew our commitment to his message. Being here at Hazratbal, surrounded by so many fellow Muslims, brings great happiness,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that the Dargah Hazratbal shrine, steeped in historical and spiritual significance, was decorated with lights and floral arrangements. Various preparations were made by the Waqf Board and Dargah Hazratbal administration to accommodate the enormous crowd of devotees and ensure that every visitor had a hassle-free and safe experience.

Another devotee, Fatima Bano, shared her sentiments, saying, “For me, this Milad-un-Nabi at Hazratbal is an emotional and spiritual high point. The atmosphere here is so serene and uplifting; it truly helps us connect with the Prophet’s teachings.”

Similarly, Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations in the Valley have, as always, highlighted the deep regard and love the people of Kashmir have for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), reflecting the elements of togetherness and devotion defining this Eid, with night-long shab and displays of the holy relic during the five times of prayer.—(KB)
