Encounter breaks out between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar

Srinagar, Sep 13 (KB): An encounter is underway between terrorists and security forces in the Chattru area of Kishtwar district on Friday.

An official told news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), that the exchange of fire started when a joint team of police and security personnel launched a cordon and search operation in the area following receiving credible information.

For now, the gunfight continues and there is reporting of sporadic bursts of shooting, the official said.

The situation remains fluid as security forces have stepped up their efforts to neutralize the threat, the official added.— (KB)
