Kulgam, Jan 29, KNT: At a time when Coaching Centres have allegedly turned into commercial centres with a sole purpose to maximize profits in the name of education, a Coaching Centre here in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district crossed all the limits when it forced students to take off their shoes and made them stand bare feet on the frozen snow.

The Institution in question is ‘A1 Coaching Centre’ located at Pohlu Kulgam. The Coaching Centre did this humiliating act to exact fee from the students.

A couple of parents told News Agency Kashmir News Trust that they were shocked over the incident and filed a complaint at police station Devsar. “We can’t believe that any Coaching Centre can stoop so low force students to stand bare feet on snow in this bone chilling cold merely for not paying fee,” they said.

Police took cognizance of the matter while management of the Coaching Institute tendered unconditional apology and gave in writing that such incidents won’t be repeated in future.

“Mere apology is not enough, the Coaching Centre owners should be booked,” said locals.

When contacted, one of the owners from the A1-Coaching Centre first feigned ignorance and then refuted the allegations. However, the incident captured on camera tells it all. (KNT)―(Photo-courtesy: Azhar Hussain)
