As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), four cricketers namely Charag Aamir, Khurshid Allaie, Aamir Magray and Suhail Reshie have spent around Rs 8 lakh in Marhama area of Bijbehara for levelling the ground to ready the turf wicket.

Charag Aamir told KNO said that whenever Kashmiri cricketers go for trials, they are unable to put any impression as they were being tried at turf wicket when they had a habit of playing on mats.

“There is no dearth of talented players but we lack turf wickets in Kashmir,” he said.

Aamir said that turf wicket is one of the main things which local youth were eager to experience so that they won’t face problems once they will go for trails.

“We four friends spent around 8 lakhs from our own pockets to level the ground and prepare the turf wicket. We spent months while working on it and the turf is ready and full ground has been levelled. It was opened this week and a mega cricket tournament has started,” he added.

According to him, their motive is to hone the talent of locals—(KNO)
