Srinagar, Jan 30 (KB): Amid fresh snowfall in different parts of the Kashmir Valley, air traffic and train operations have been suspended, and exams of bot the cluster university and central university have been cancelled.

 

Reports reaching Kashmir Bulletin (KB) state that Srinagar airport has reported poor visibility, leading to the cancellation of all Air India flights for today, along with several other airlines such as Vistara, Spicejet, Indigo, and GoFirst. The following flights have been cancelled today due to bad weather: Vistara UK 644 SXR DEL ETD 11:35, UK 611 SXR IXJ ETD 12:35 and UK 612 SXR DEL ETD 15:40. Spicejet flights SG 8963 and SG 8161, Indigo 6E 2981/2982, 6E 2356/2356 and 6E 6022/6163, and all Air India flights have been cancelled due to bad weather at the airport.

Additionally, “Spicejet SG 951 SXR-BOM, SG 8963 SXR-IXJ, and SG 8161 SXR-IXJ, Go First G8911/G8913, and AirAsia I5710 and I5559 have been cancelled.”

 

“The train service has also been suspended and is expected to resume once the snow has been cleared from the railway line.”

 

A Met official sharing details with KB said, “Heavy snowfall and rain with thunderstorm in the plains of Jammu is very likely to continue for the next 12 hours. Expect a gradual decrease in precipitation from later tonight. On January 31, it will be cloudy with light snow/rain at isolated to scattered places.”

 

“The controller of exams at the cluster university Srinagar and the controller of examinations at Kashmir University said, “All PG, engineering and other examinations scheduled for Monday, January 30, 2023, have been postponed in view of the inclement weather conditions. Fresh dates for the deferred exams will be notified separately later.”

 

Further, “The Jammu-Srinagar NHW is still blocked. People are advised not to travel on NH-44 without confirmation from TCUs.” (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
