Fresh Weather Update for the next two days, Heavy Snowfall is back in Kashmir

A Western disturbance is very likely to affect over Jammu, Kashmir and UT Ladakh from tomorrow morning onwards under the influence,

 

Light to moderate rain/snow is expected at most places of J&K and UT Ladakh from tomorrow morning to 05 February morning. The weather system will concentrate more over South Kashmir and chenab valley as compared to central and north kashmir.

Snowfall is also expected over tourists places like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Doodhpatri and Pahalgam from tomorrow morning.

Peak activity of the weather system is expected from tomorrow afternoon to 05 February morning , during this period higher reaches of South Kashmir and chenab valley are likely to receive heavy snowfall. Fresh spell of Snowfall is also possible over Kargil – Drass axis.

Generally light to moderate rain is expected over plains of Kashmir however chances of fresh snowfall is also possible over some plains especially south kashmir. Light / moderate intensity spell of rainfall is also possible over plains of Jammu.

Based on current observations and future forecast , significant snowfall is expected over some higher reaches of South Kashmir with snow accumulation ranging between 10 inches to 2 feet . Few inches of snow is also possible over plains of South Kashmir especially Shopian and Kulgam (60% chances) . plains of central and north kashmir may also see a light snow spell 45% (chances).

Improvement in weather is mostly likely from 05 February afternoon onwards.
