She stated that on the 25th of September last month she went to Medicare Super Specialty Hospital Karan Nagar Srinagar for MRI & CT Scan of her 6-year-old daughter. T

“They charged me Rs11000 (eleven thousand Rupees) for one MRI & CT Scan, when I asked why too much charges they said we give sleeping medicine to your baby. (syrup pediclory)”

She stated that the cost of one bottle of peadiclory syrup is Rs 100, then how come 10ml costs thousands of rupees?

“I request you to seal the hospital and see how this privatization mafia is looting in the name of treatment. In their registration document they claim social service, but very unfortunately they looted me by Rs 11000 instead of Rs 6000.”

“I hope to get a refund for my extra money with your kind intervention,” the female complainant stated.

Taking cognizance of the complaint Chief Medical Officer Srinagar has directed Zonal Medical Officer, Zone SR Gunj to frame a committee at his own level and look into this grievance against Medicare Nursing Home.

“The committee shall submit their report to this office within one day positively for further submission,” the order reads. (KNT)
