Gugaldhar Kupwara Operation: Infiltration bid Foiled, two heavily armed pakistani terrorists killed

Large quantity of war like stores recovered

Srinagar, 5 Oct (KB): Indian army on saturday said that infiltration bid was foiled along the LOC and two heavily armed Pakistani terrorists were killed, war like stores recovered.

Defence spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency Kashmir Bulletin reads, Over the past few weeks, there have been multiple intelligence inputs about infiltration attempts planned through Keran Sector. On 03 Oct 2024, specific input was received which was corroborated by Jammu Kashmir Police & IB about likely infiltration through thick jungles of Keran Sector.

Accordingly, a joint operation was launched by Army, BSF and JKP along appreciated infiltration routes and ensuring round the clock surveillance, it reads. On 04 Oct 2024, around 08.10 pm, suspicious movement was observed by own troops from area across the Line of Control and as they came close by, vigilant troops challenged, which resulted in infiltrating terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. In the ensuing firefight, two terrorists were neutralized alongside recovery of large quantity of warlike stores. From the recoveries it is evident that these suspected Pakistani terrorists were heavily armed, well trained and equipped, it added.

This successful intelligence-based operation is yet another example of the synergy amongst intelligence agencies, Indian Army & JKP.
