Srinagar, Aug 11 (KB): An intense operation is underway in the Khaned area of Basantgarh, Udhampur, where security forces are engaged in a fierce encounter with 3-4 terrorists from the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) group.
This latest clash follows an earlier standoff on August 6, during which the terrorists managed to evade capture.
The current encounter has seen a renewed effort by the forces to corner and neutralize the terrorists, who are reportedly holed up in the upper reaches of the area.
The operation has prompted the authorities to establish a tight cordon around the affected zone, with heightened security measures in place for surrounding regions.
