International Film Festival to begin on Srinagar from 25 October

The cultural landscape of Srinagar is set to shine once again as the second edition of The International Film Festival of Srinagar (TIFFS) is set to begin from October 25 at Tagore Hall Srinagar.

TIFFS is all set to take place from October 25 to 26, 2023, at Tagore Hall in the captivating city of Srinagar, often referred to as the Venice of the East.

The festival, which successfully put Srinagar on the international film festival circuit with its debut edition, continues to garner attention and admiration from filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinephiles alike.

An official said told Kashmir Scroll that films of around 27 countries will be shown for two days.

He said that known filmmakers and producers will be part of the event and local people will install stalls to show culture of Kashmir.(KS)

A student of class 10 at Govt Boys Higher Secondary Batapora, Faizan has already made a name for himself as a passionate promoter of the Kashmiri language. His writing journey in his native Kashmiri language began a year ago, indicating his dedication and talent in the field of literature. “My writing primarily revolves around several themes, including privileged forms of poetry, such as Naats, which are poetic compositions in praise of Islamic prophets. This choice of subject matter suggests my deep interest in spirituality and faith,” said Faizan while speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). In addition to his writings on spiritual topics, Faizan also explores themes related to spiritual growth and unity, aiming to foster a sense of connection and harmony among his readers. “This highlights my commitment to not only preserving and promoting the Kashmiri language but also using it as a medium to convey meaningful messages and inspire spiritual reflection,” he said. “Outside of my writing pursuits, I demonstrate my versatility and confidence in various activities.
