Brief showers are also expected at some places in J&K in the afternoon and evening. Up to August 15, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over both Kashmir and Jammu Divisions, particularly during the early morning hours.

Brief showers may continue in some areas later in the day. From August 16 to 20, the region should prepare for ongoing light to moderate rain and thundershowers at numerous locations.

The MET Centre has issued an adverse weather advisory, pointing out the possibility of pretty intense and heavy rainfall, more so in Jammu Division. This may lead to flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas.

People have been asked to remain alert and prepared for any sudden change in weather conditions. Also, there may be waterlogging in low-lying areas and an increase in the water level of Tawi and other flood channels in Jammu Division during the next five days.

The authorities and people of the area are appealed to remain updated from the officials regarding the evolving situation and take necessary measures to reduce the impact of inclement weather.— (KB)
