Jammu Kashmir Grant of Scholarship to Wards/Children of eligible Weavers/ Artisans

Implementation of an Education Scheme for Grant of Scholarships to the Wards/Children of eligible Weavers/ Artisans for the year 2022-23.

Applications on prescribed proforma are invited from children of eligible registered Artisans/ Weavers for grant of Scholarship, notified vide Govt. Order No 80-JK (IND) of 2022 dated 12.05.2022. The payment shall be made on DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode to the beneficiary after producing the valid fees receipt duly signed by the head of School/Institute subject to the following condition:-

 

Eligibility : Children (both boys and girls) of all Weavers/Artisans registered with the Handicrafts and Handloom departments having valid registration cards/certificates with the following conditions :

a) Having Below Poverty Line (BPL), PHH, AAY Ration Card (OR)

 

b) Having Economic Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate (OR)

 

c) Having income less than Rs. 90,000/- per annum with income certificate issued by the 1st Class Magistrate/Tehsildar concerned. Besides, the applicant shall seek NOC from the concerned Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO), that he/she has not availed any benefits under the following schemes being implemented by this department:-

 

i) Pre-Matric Scholarship.

ii) Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme.

iii) Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme.

iv) Any other Scheme.

 

Scholarships:

The following amount of Scholarship shall be provided to the eligible children of weavers/artisans.

S.No.ClassRate of Scholarship to each student
1.Upto Primary educationRs.1500 per student per year for boys & Girls of weavers/artisans
2.From 6th to 10th ClassRs.2000 per student per year for boys & Girls of weavers/artisans
3.From 11th to 12th classRs.3000 per student per year for boys & Girls of weavers/artisans
4.For Technical/ ProfessionalAs per actual course fee fixed by the Government

How to apply : Interested children of Artisans/ Weavers may submit their application form duly supported by the requisite formalities within one month in the office of the undersigned.

 

Note: The Scholarship shall be provided to a maximum of two children of weavers/Artisans.
