J&K records 57.03% voter turnout in Phase-II of J&K Assembly Elections

Reasi records highest of 74.70% voter turnout

Srinagar, 26 Sep (KB): The second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections recorded an 57.03% voter turnout, official said.

“All the 26 assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir have recorded 57.03 percent voter turnout in the second phase of Assembly Elections in the Union Territory”, communicated the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin

As per official district wise data available with KB reads that, Ganderbal recorded 62.51% voter turnout, Srinagar 29.81%, Budgam 62.98%, Reasi 74.70%, Rajouri 70.95% and Poonch recorded 73.80% voter turnout in second phase of polls.

While giving constituency wise details officials stated that, Beerwah recorded 66.94% turnout, Budgam 51.09%, Chadoora 57.19%, Charar-i-Sharief 70.26%, Khansahib 72.04%, Ganderbal 56.60%, Kangan 72.18%, Eidgah 36.95%, Central Shalteng 31.83%, Channapora 29.50%, Habbakadal 19.81%, Hazratbal 32.35%, Khanyar 26.08%, Lal Chowk 32.36%, Zadibal 30.41%.

In Jammu, Reasi 72.06%, Gulabgarh 73.49%, Shri Mata Vishno Devi 80.74%, Rajouri 70.56%, Budhal (st) 70.14%, Kalakoot-Sunderbani 68.71%, Nawshera 72.00%, Thanamandi 72.92%, Poonch-Haweli 74.66%, Mendhar 71.60% recorded voter turnout in second phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls.

The 2nd phase of General Elections to J&K Legislative Assembly is on 26 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) across six districts of Jammu & Kashmir.

In this phase, 25,78,099 lakh voters are eligible to cast their ballot, comprising 13,12,730 lakh male voters, 12,65,316 lakh female voters and 53 third-gender voters. This phase will determine the fate of 239 candidates.

The respective District Administrations had made elaborative arrangements at all the polling stations for free, fair and transparent elections. (KB)
