Kashmiri Sculptor Crafts Unique Stone Clock in Four Days, Fulfilling Daughter’s Demand

Srinagar Dec 30 : Abdul Aziz Wani, a skilled sculptor from Saderkot Bala village in Bandipora district, has showcased his craftsmanship by creating a remarkable stone clock in just four days.

Expressing the dedication behind his work, Aziz highlighted the challenge of crafting such intricate pieces and emphasized the hard work involved.

Aziz shared a heartwarming story of inspiration, revealing that his daughter, currently serving at Soura, expressed a desire for a stone clock after purchasing a copper one. Motivated by her daughter’s wish, Aziz dedicated himself to the task, citing the profound love Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had for his daughters.

Reflecting on his achievements, Aziz said that in this year I am succeeded to make “stone made” name of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Allah.

In a departure from conventional trophies, Aziz proposed crafting stone trophies for cricket enthusiasts, promoting a sustainable alternative to plastic or metal.

Despite his artistic prowess, Aziz humbly urged the people of Kashmir to support his craft by purchasing stone-made items from him.

He emphasized that the success of his business hinged on local patronage, encouraging the community to appreciate and preserve traditional craftsmanship.

Aziz’s story not only highlights his artistic prowess but also underscores the cultural significance of supporting local artisans in Kashmir valley.
