Everyone cherishes this historic selfie spot, adding their own unique touch to the city’s chronicles. Both locals and tourists describe it as ‘a timeless beauty in the heart of the city.’

The locals and tourists alike, while sharing their experiences, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said at the base of the clock tower, a heartwarming tradition endures as children and adults alike feed the pigeons. “This ritual connects generations, and the sight of pigeons in flight around the tower adds to the city’s enchanting experience, as It’s not just about the pigeons in the heart of Srinagar city; it’s about preserving traditions and making them a part of your own story, keeping this Lal Chowk alive in the hearts of all.”

“Surrounded by bustling markets, Lal Chowk has transformed into a bustling tourist hub. As visitors can explore the vibrant marketplaces and indulge in shopping for exquisite handcrafted souvenirs. The clock tower serves as a central point for navigation and a rendezvous spot for families exploring the city,” said Zahid, a local shopkeeper opposite the iconic Clock Tower.

“The clock tower is the heart of Srinagar, echoing with the history of generations. It’s where our traditions live, and where every moment feels like a treasure. Surrounded by the bustling markets, the clock tower is the heartbeat of our city,” added Sabreena, a female from Soura Srinagar.

Likewise, the tourists who spoke to KNO, said Lal Chowk’s Clock Tower is a place where every moment is a memory waiting to be captured. It’s the perfect backdrop for travelers seeking to add a touch of history to their stories, said Karan, a tourist from Gujarat. “The melodious chimes of the clock tower’s bells add charm to its beauty, as It’s a piece of history that invites travelers to become a part of the city’s chronicles,” added Mohit Singh from Mumbai, as per KNO.

It is worth mentioning, that as the sun sets, the clock tower area transforms into a hub of nightlife. “The surrounding cafes, restaurants, and food stalls come alive, offering a wide range of delectable dishes and beverages, with the newly transformed lighting at night adds a beautiful and historical touch to its beauty.”
