Muharram-ul-Haram 1444: Moon Not Sighted, Youm e Ashura On August 9: Grand Mufti Nasir Ul Islam

Srinagar, Jul 29 (KB): The Moon of Muharram-ul-Haram was not sighted anywhere acroos J&K on Friday and Sunday will be the first day of New islamic year 1444, announced Jammu and Kashmir grand Mufti, Nasir Ul Islam.

Talking to Kashmir Bulletin — KB Mufti Nasir Ul Islam said that, Moon of Muharram ul Haraam was not found anywhere as no witness’ could be made available on record regarding the sighting of moon, from any part of Jammu or Kashmir, He said.

He added that, The new islamic year will start from Sunday, July 31, and the Youm e Ashura will be observed on August 9”, Mufti Nasir said.

Meanwhile mufti Nazir Ul Islam prayed for well-being of Ummah, especially for Kashmir and youth. (Kashmir Bulletin — KB)
