Speaking during a party convention in Gandarbal, according to the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), said he has not visited Gandarbal to become the Chief Minister, but rather to ask people to elect him as an MLA, and the 4th of October will decide who is going to be the Chief Minister of this UT.

Discussing the alliance with the INDIA BLOCK as a crucial measure to keep the BJP away from Jammu and Kashmir, Omar said a united front had to be in place to fight this election.

“We have not sacrificed our principles; the fight we are in has its own role in the assembly. I can’t say anything to people. Whether they go for the vote, elect their members, or accept this assembly, I do not accept this assembly,” said Omar adding as of now, I do not accept that this assembly will have any power, but we can boost this assembly with further power once we form the assembly.

He added that people have tried different scenarios by staying away from the elections personally but bringing forward their relatives.

“No voter can provide any verdict about the bail, but only the apex court has such authority. The ED never wanted to have the case against Dr. Farooq Abdullah quashed, but the court decided, and the decision of the court has been reserved for further proceedings,” Omar added.—(KB)
