Power Supply Disruptions Scheduled Across Kashmir for Maintenance and Augmentation Works

SRINAGAR: Power supply in several areas of Kashmir is set to be affected over the coming days due to various maintenance and augmentation works undertaken by the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL).

According to the Chief Engineer of KPDCL, power supply from Bemina KP Bagh Line to receiving station Rakhiarth and feeding areas, including Rakhiarth, Hamdania Colony, and adjoining localities, will remain affected on February 6 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM due to jumpering work on conductors and shifting of conductors to newly erected high-tension poles.

For the temporary shifting and raising of a tap, the power supply from the 33kV Delina-Sopore line to Receiving Station Sopore-II and areas including Town 1st, Seer, Wagub, Amargarh, and adjoining regions will be disrupted on February 8 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In view of conductor stringing and replacement of PCC poles under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the power supply from the 33kV Sheeri-Baramulla 1st and Baramulla 2nd lines to Receiving Stations Baramulla-1st, Baramulla-2nd, Kanlibagh, Drangbal, Sheeri, and areas including Old Town Baramulla, Kanlibagh, Drangbal, Sheeri, and adjacent localities will remain affected on February 11 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Similarly, due to the shifting of electrical utilities along the road, the power supply to Receiving Stations including Batwina, Wangipora, Nowgam, and feeding areas such as Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Ahan, Waskura, Kharbagh, Guzhama, Sumbal, Nesbal, and adjoining regions will be affected on February 7 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

For the stabilization of the 33kV Aloosa Line, power supply from Potushai-Aloosa Line to receiving station Aloosa and areas including Aloosa, Malangam, Quil, Mukam, Turkpora, PHE, and adjoining areas will be affected on February 8 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Meanwhile, as per the Chief Engineer of KPTCL, the dismantling, shifting, and recharging of a 20 MVA power transformer, along with the unloading and placement of an 80 MVA transformer at the Grid Substation (GSS) Amargarh, will necessitate the disruption of power supply from 132/33kV GSS Amargarh to 33kV feeders supplying Sopore, Baramulla, SIDCO, Nowpora, Bandipora, and Arampora from 10:00 AM on February 5 to 6:00 PM on February 7.

Further, for the augmentation of old 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR of the Nehalpora-Markundal Line, power supply from Nehalpora (Markundal Line) to receiving stations at Markundal, Naidkhai, Shahgund, and Aglar, along with feeding areas, will remain affected on February 8 and 10 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Additionally, augmentation and stabilization work on the 33kV Awantipora Line will impact the power supply to Receiving Stations at Awantipora-I, Awantipora-II, IUST, AIIMS, Rice Mills, LIS, and feeding areas such as Malangpora, Padgampora, Beighpora, Barsoo, and Awantipora on February 8 and 10 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Moreover, the erection of poles at the Court Complex Pampore will lead to power supply disruptions from the Pampore-SIDCO Line to receiving stations supplying cement plants at Khrew and IE Khrew on February 9 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Likewise, power supply from the Awantipora-Naroo Line to receiving stations at Naroo, LIS, Koil Stage-I, II, and III, and feeding areas including Ratnipora, Lajoora, Puchal, and Naroo, will remain affected on February 8 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
