Srinagar, Sep 23: The 30th District Badminton Championship 2023 concluded today with a grand prize distribution ceremony held at the SK Indoor Sports Complex in Gogji Bagh. The event witnessed an impressive turnout of more than 350 young athletes, both boys and girls, competing across various age groups.
This year, the championship saw the convergence of two prestigious tournaments: the District Srinagar Badminton Championship and the District Badgam Badminton Championship, with over 270 participants from Srinagar and 80 from Badgam demonstrating their badminton prowess.
The championships were masterfully organized by the District Srinagar Badminton Association and the District Badgam Badminton Association under the patronage of the Badminton Association of Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Complex.
Mr. Muzaffer Hussain (KAS), Sports Officer of Kashmir, graced the occasion as the chief guest and enthusiastically distributed prizes to the deserving winners and runners-up. The event was also graced by notable guests, including Mr. Saleem (AEE), Mr. Khursheed (Vice President of J&K Bank), Mr. Iqbal (Manager of SKISC), Mr. Toufseef (Badminton Coach at SAI), Mr. Nasir Hussain, Mr. Mansoor, Mr. Tariq Ahmed, Mr. Uzair, and sports incharges from various schools, including Miss Hadiya (Oasis), Mr. Firdous Ahmed (G.D. Goenka), and Mr. Ajaz Ahmed (Foundation World).
