According to details obtained by the news aggregator—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), this bond of love among siblings brought a sense of joy and unity, and Raksha Bandhan was enthusiastically celebrated with love in Srinagar as well as in other parts of Kashmir and Jammu.

Sisters in Srinagar were joining in the traditional spirit of the festival, gifting and tying Rakhis on wrists with prayers for the well-being and long life of their brothers.

The same festive fervor was witnessed in Jammu as families got together to celebrate the day. Special prayers and rituals came out of temples and public places, adding to the festive atmosphere.

According to a resident of Srinagar, raksha Bandhan means more than a festival. “It’s a day when we all put all our worries behind and stay together like one family, strengthening our bonds of love and protection,” said Ponam Das from Dalgate Srinagar.

Patiently, Tlthe festival reminded one and all of the ever-lasting bondage of love and the centrality of family in the lives of Jammu and Kashmir people. —(KB)
