Umar Nisar also known as ‘Radio boy of India’ is among the youngest RJ’s of India. Umar is the first Kashmiri who started the podcast and brought a revolution in the radio industry in Kashmir. Besides this, Umar is the first Kashmiri teenager to speak at TEDx talks. Umar came into Kashmir’s radio industry when he was just 13 Years old, currently he’s working with Radio Raabta 90.8 FM as prime time host and programming director.
Umar predominantly works in Hindi-language television shows, films, television commercials, webseries and music videos.
Received the National UNICEF and Radio 4 Child Award for the campaign #IndiaFightsCovid which created impact and awareness across country.
All radio stations across the country had participated in the campaign. The award ceremony was conducted virtually to follow covid19 guidelines, and the award was given by Dr. Amit Mehrotra, OIC UNICEF, UP. Ms Zafrin Chowdhury, chief of communications and advocacy and partnerships, UNICEF India, and Mr Roshan Abbas.
Lately, Umar had Attended UNICEF Conference to understand the role of Radio to strengthen It’s initiatives including JalJeevanMission – ‘Har Ghar Jal’ in New Delhi.
