Sanitation & cleanliness drive cum awareness programme organized at district hospital Kulgam

Srinagar, Feb 28 (KB): A Sanitation and Cleanliness Drive Cum Awareness Programme was successfully organized at District Hospital Kulgam, under the initiative of the hospital administration in association with the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC).

The campaign sought to encourage hygiene, sanitation, and awareness among the general public concerning cleanliness in health facilities. The medical personnel, hospital officials, volunteers, and IHRC members were all very actively involved in the campaign, conducting proper cleaning of hospital buildings and making visitors aware of the need to maintain the environment as hygienic.

Addressing the gathering, hospital officials stressed that cleanliness drives be conducted regularly in order to avert infections and provide a hygienic environment for patients as well as workers. IHRC representatives stressed how clean environments protect basic human rights, especially the right to health.

The program involved interactive sessions, demonstrations of waste disposal, and discussion on infection control practices. Informative brochures were also distributed by the volunteers to make the public contribute towards a healthier and cleaner society.

The drive was welcomed by patients and visitors alike, who appreciated the move to improve the hygiene levels in the hospital. The organizers stated that they were keen on carrying out similar awareness drives in the future to reiterate the significance of sanitation and cleanliness in public places.— (KB)
