Save Youth Save Future Foundation Hosts ‘Sach Ka Safar’ in Pulwama to Combat Fake Narratives
Srinagar: In a significant step towards combating digital misinformation and empowering youth, the Save Youth Save Future Foundation, under its educational initiative Taleem Haq Hai Hamara, organized a powerful and timely event titled “Sach Ka Safar – Youth Against Fake Narratives” at Town Hall Pulwama.
The event brought together over 100 energetic and curious youth from various colleges and institutions across the district. With a central focus on the challenges of fake news, cybercrime, and digital radicalization, the event provided a platform for awareness, dialogue, and community engagement.
Chief Guest SSP Pulwama, Ms. PD Nitya, shared her expertise in an insightful interactive session. She shed light on the dual nature of social media—its power to connect and inform, but also its potential for misuse. Urging the youth to be cautious digital citizens, she emphasized the need for critical thinking, media literacy, and cyber vigilance.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Anika Nazir, President of Taleem Haq Hai Hamara, who highlighted the rise in cyberbullying and online harassment, calling on young people to be proactive in reporting abuse and using online platforms for learning and innovation.
Mr. Shabir Ahmed, District Coordinator of the Foundation, elaborated on how digital platforms are increasingly exploited to spread propaganda and manipulate public opinion. He stressed the importance of empowering youth with tools to question and analyze information before accepting or sharing it.
Mr. Shahid-ul-Islam, a dynamic young activist, energized the crowd with a powerful talk on the role of youth in dismantling fake narratives and promoting a culture of truth and accountability in society.
Mr. Shabnam Fayaz offered a critical analysis of how misinformation affects public discourse, often sowing division and fear. He encouraged the audience to adopt fact-checking habits and challenge misinformation respectfully but firmly.
The event was smoothly executed under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Jasib Shabir, District Coordinator (Pulwama) for the Save Youth Save Future Foundation. Known for his unwavering dedication to youth empowerment and grassroots activism, Jasib played a central role in organizing the event, ensuring every detail was handled with precision and care. His closing vote of thanks resonated with sincerity and hope, as he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests, volunteers, and attendees. A rising figure among young change-makers in South Kashmir, Jasib’s commitment to creating a drug-free, digitally aware, and socially conscious community continues to inspire many.
The program was skillfully hosted by Ms. Awaleen Javed, who kept the atmosphere lively and engaging, ensuring a seamless flow of sessions and discussions.
