SED Shortlists 14 Candidates for Appointment to Post of Chairman, Director SCERT

Srinagar, Feb 28 (KB): Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s School Education Department has shortlisted 14 candidates for roles of Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) and Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).

The selection follows an advertisement issued by SED, issued on December 30, 2024, inviting applications through the department’s official website.

A Search Committee, led by the Financial Commissioner/Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department, convened on February 17, 2025, to finalize the shortlist.

Among those candidates shortlisted for the roles’, as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin, include; Munshi Tehmina Yousuf (Principal, Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar); Dr. Sunil Gupta (Principal, GDC Basohli); Raj Kumar (Joint Registrar, University of Jammu), Naveen Anand (Dean Academic Affairs, Cluster University Jammu); Dr. Surinder Kour (Dean, Cluster University of Jammu); Manisha Kohli (Principal, HED J&K); Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani (Dean & Head School Education, Central University of Kashmir); Dr. Shehnaz Iqbal Qureshi (Deputy Registrar, IUST Awantipora); Dr. Twinkle Suri (Principal, GDC Samba); Jahangir Iqbal Tantray (Co-ordinator Head Department of Persian, UoK); Abid Hussain (Additional Commissioner, JKBOSE); and Sindhu Kapoor (Joint Director JKSCERT), all of whom applied for both posts. Among those who have applied and subsequently shortlisted for the role of Chairman JKBOSE, include; Dr. Jatinder Khajuria and Dr. Sudhir Singh (Joint Secretary, JKBOSE).

The shortlisted candidates have been directed to appear for an interaction with the Search Committee on March 5, 2025. (KB)
