On September 30, Nadeem Ahmad Ganie, alias Nadeem Nadu was arrested by the Jammu & Kashmir police on charges of rape, extortion and criminal intimidation on the basis of a complaint of a girl, who was sexually exploited by him.

In her complaint, the victim said that the accused took her objectionable pictures after sedating her and used these to blackmail her into forced sexual intercourse many times.
