Shiv Sena (UBT) submits memorandum to IGP to address rising crime in Jammu

Jammu: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit chief Manish Sahni met with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bhim Sen Tuti on Saturday to express deep concerns regarding the increasing incidents of crime, including cow smuggling and drug trafficking.
During the meeting, Sahni submitted a memorandum outlining these pressing issues, the party said in a statement issued here.

Sahni said the current climate in Jammu has become one of fear and insecurity due to the surge in criminal activities. “There is an atmosphere of terror in Jammu caused by these alarming trends,” he said. He urged for urgent and robust measures to restore public confidence and ensure the safety of citizens.

Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said that numerous heinous crimes have occurred in recent days, showcasing not only the audacity of criminals but also a concerning lack of prompt action by authorities in preventing or effectively dealing with these threats.

To combat this growing issue, Sahni proposed several actionable strategies, including the strengthening of the surveillance network in Jammu and surrounding areas, increased police patrolling, enhanced vigilance, and swift and transparent investigations into criminal activities.

He recommended the verification of details of outsiders in police records and the implementation of community policing initiatives to foster collaboration between law enforcement and residents.
Sahni also offered the assistance of Shiv Sena volunteers to support the police in their efforts to combat crime and enhance community security.
