Srinagar Diaries: Meet Duha Bhat a wordsmith from Khanyar, Srinagar

Srinagar 14, Jan(KB): Meet Duha Bhat Author/ writer hailing from the land of Sufi’s, Khanyar Srinagar. She is also an author of the book” OH CANCER U STOLE HER”.

While children of Kashmir were busy in their schedules of studies and sports, Duha Bhat found writing as her passion and peace of mind.
Talking to Kashmir Bulletin (KB), she said that I have started writing at a very young age and got published at the age of 14. I listed myself among the youngest authors of present times. Now as a girl of 16, I write in both English and Urdu language and find writing as the only tool to express my feelings.
I have started from diary entries at 12, found writing as a way to describe my inner feelings only after I lost my beloved.
‘OH CANCER! YOU STOLE HER’ is my first book and that too an autobiography. It is the journey of two lovers from the dawn of being to the abysmal dusk of nightmares!
Continuing her passion, Duha is now an upcoming author of our Valley working on her project.
The author believes that mankind suffers the most. So, she looks forward to becoming a philanthropist in the future. Moreover, she is a 10 standard student who has a dream to be a scholar of Oxford University.
She is passionate about writing poems in English and has recently begun writing in Urdu.
She says,” I want to eliminate sufferings of mankind in the best possible way!”
