Budgam 30 Mar KNT: Police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district booked a teacher of a private school on Wednesday on charges of corporal punishment.
Police initiated action against the teacher following a complaint lodged by the child’s father at Police Station Beerwah.
A official source told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the parents of Class 4 student Abdullah Bin Fayaz Wani lodged a complaint against the teacher of ‘Alpine School’ located at Sonpah Beerwah charging that the teacher Khurshid Rehman Dar hit the student with sticks.
Police took cognizance of the complaint and registered an FIR vide number 25/2022 under relevant sections of law against the teacher.
While divulging information about the incident the Principal Alpine School’ -Bashir Ahmed told KNT that he personally had apologized to the parents but still they approached the police station. “It’s very unfortunate. The teacher punished the student for not doing the homework. His action was for the betterment of the student but what the teacher did is condemnable and we have already suspended him,” Bashir Ahmed said. (KNT)
