Srinagar, Aug 31 (KB): As a recent development, the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir announced fresh postings for key police positions in various districts.
The new postings, which take effect immediately, are part of preparations for the upcoming General Election to the Legislative Assembly in 2024.
According to the notification, which is with the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), reads Mohd Zaid (JKPS:2001) is posted as SSP, Baramulla; Ghulam Jeelani Wani (JKPS:2001) will be SSP, Kupwara; Ifroze Ahmad (JKPS:2004) is assigned to the post of SP, Handwara; and Imtiyaz Hussain Mir (JKPS:1999) will be SSP, Srinagar.
Similarly, the appointments have been approved by the Commission, and a compliance report is to be sent urgently. The aim behind these changes is to strengthen both administrative and security arrangements before the elections.—(KB)
