Woman Dies of Electrocution While Collecting Firewood in Ramban

Srinagar, Feb 24 (KB): A woman died after getting electrocuted while collecting firewood in a forest area in Ramban, an official said.

Identifying the deceased as Kulsuma Begum (32), wife of Gulzar Ahmed Sheikh, a resident of Gugwani Neel, the official told Kashmir Bulletin that the woman had ventured into the forest area along Ludhoo Nallah in Ramsoo, to collect firewood for domestic use.

“She accidently came in touch with an electric pole exposed to live current, leading to her instant death,” the official said.

Further details are awaited. (KB)
