Sopore, Sep 30: Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul on Friday said that parents can play an important role in channelising their children towards sports and save them from drugs and other illegal activities.
As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Nuzhat Gul addressed a massive gathering of people in Sopore on the occasion of Industrial Football Cup Finale.
She said collective effort is need of the hour to eradicate drug menace from the society. She said we should understand that drugs are problem only then we can use our devisive mechanism to check how to save our children from the menace of drugs.
The sports chief said we all should accept drugs as sin so that we all will be careful about our future generations and will exhibit concern over being involved in such evil practices.
She said Government can give infrasture, lights, stadiums to engage youth positively but only parents can play an important role in encouraging their children to get involved in sports so that their children excel through community programmes.
She said parents can make their children aware about the importance of sports through which they can be fit and healthy.
“Once children will come in the field of sports they will be healthy and can always remain focused on maintaining their fitness and will be away from drugs,” she added.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing month-long Industrial football cup JK Bank VS ARCO FC managed to reach to the finals.
The final match was played in Khushal stadium in which JK Bank beats ARCO FC by 4 goals to nil.
On the occasion of final match thousands of sports enthusiasts cheered for their best football team at Khushaal Stadium.
Javeed Ahmad Bhat, President Industrial Estate Sopore, the brain behind the Industrial Estate Football tournament told Kashmir Despatch that the motive behind the tournament was to channelize youth towards sports as youth of Kashmir are being found involved in drugs and other anti-social, anti national activities and sports events are a way out to protect them from getting derailed besides to restore some entertainment means in the town.
