Srinagar: The body of a teenage girl from Kupwara, who had allegedly jumped into the river Jhelum in Sonwar area of Srinagar on February 12 evening, was retrieved from the water body on Wednesday afternoon, ANH reported.
Quoting reports, Asian News Hub said a tennage girl from Trehgam, Kupwara had jumped into Jehlum in Sonwar on Sunday evening, after which a rescue operation was launched to retrieve her body.
After hectic efforts by Marine commandoes of Indian Army, River Police Srinagar and SDRF the body of a teenage girl was retrieved this afternoon, reports said.
Meanwhile the body has been taken into custody by police and after medico-legal formalities would be handed over to the family for last rites, reports added.
