Srinagar, Feb 21 (KB): A leopard was sighted in the Bagandar Lasjan area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district early this morning and was subsequently captured by wildlife officials.
Reports reaching the Kashmir Bulletin (KB) said that a leopard was seen in the area, prompting announcements for people to stay indoors as the animal was roaming freely.
Locals of the area told KB that the leopard was spotted in the early morning hours as they were returning from the mosque. It is assumed that the leopard might have been hiding in a residential area.
“Soon after the news spread, a rescue team from the wildlife department arrived, and the search for the leopard.
Meanwhile, an official from the Wildlife Department told KB that the leopard has now been captured and the area is being secured. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
