Kupwara, July 11: In another initiative to connect with the locals and also honour the Veteran Soldiers of Indian Army particularly from the remote region of Lolab, Kupwara, a Ex Servicemen rally was organised by Army Camp Gujjarpatti under the aegis of Charkut Garrison on 11 July 2021.
The event was a memorable chapter to celebrate the bonhomie between Army and the retired brother soldiers and to commemorate the services of ex-servicemen,”
Several stalls of Help Desk, Medical Investigation by Medical Officer of the Camp and Grievance redressal cell to note pending issues were installed for assistance of the veteran soldiers.
The event kickstarted with Opening address by Commanding Officer, Army Camp Gujjarpatti. Thereafter latest policy guidelines and letters were read out by experts on the subject and also a lecture by Bank Manager, SBI Sogam on benefits, subsidies and loans available for veteran soldiers was carried out. Post that a Lecture was delivered by Medical Officer of camp on Covid and other ailments. Tree plantation was also done by the Veteran Soldiers and Army together to mark this occasion.
The event witnessed more than 100 Veteran Soldiers from the remote region of Lolab. The veterans were very happy and satisfied with the way Indian Army is still treating their brother soldiers even when they have hung their uniforms. These veterans pledged to provide their services anytime called upon by the nation and recalled the days when they fought bravely together for the country.
