Smooth functioning of Triage centre vital for Covid mitigation: DC Anantnag
Directs for need based referrals, proper coordination among officers, rational utilization of oxygen
ANANTNAG, MAY 08 (KB): To review the Covid scenario of the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today held a meeting of concerned officers at Dak Bungalow Khanabal here.
At the outset, the DC directed for creation of oxygen audit committees for GMC and other covid hospitals for monitoring the demand and supply of oxygen besides utilising it rationally and judiciously.
He said the committee with technical experts from MED and health sector will check the functioning of oxygen plants, supply pipes and oxyflow meter readings for its purity and quantity and shall also submit the daily reports in this regard.
Stressing on the provision of all basic facilities at the covid centres, Dr. Singla enjoined upon the concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted and stable power supply alongwith Genset facilities for back up there. He also exhorted for hygiene, cleanliness and routine fumigation of the covid hospitals and centres.
Highlighting the importance of triage centre at GMC Anantnag, the DC directed the Principal of the College to equip the same with adequate man power and machines for smooth referral of the patients based on their need/condition and expert opinion of doctors. He called for active and effective coordination between GMC and other hospitals besides adopting a standard scientific protocol for referrals.
While lauding the efforts of health and line departments for tackling effects of Covid Pandemic, Dr. Singla emphasised for taking further proactive measures with highest level of coordination among the officers to address any eventuality.
Emphasising to improve the functioning of covid control rooms at DC office and CMO office, the DC passed directions to merge them and start a joint control room at Dak banglow Khanabal.
He remarked that the control room will share daily updates of positive cases, contact tracing, red zones and magistrates involved, vaccination status, oxygen availability and management besides covid and non-covid related grievances from people of the district.
The DC said the oxygen supply will be regulated by a committee and public hospitals associated with treatment of Covid patients will be prioritised for allocation of refilled oxygen cylinders. He passed onspot directions to oxygen suppliers to ensure compliance and cooperation with the authorities in this regard.
The DC assured the officers full support from district administration for dealing with the situation arising out of the Pandemic most efficiently.
